Eye Doctor

William was referred to an eye doctor because his left eye lid droops a bit lower than the other - mostly when he's tired. Matt & I didn't see this as a problem if it's only cosmetic, because we think he's cute regardless. However, apparently it can be a sign of something potentially more serious.

He went in on Monday. The staff at the Crosby Eye Clinic in Baxter were wonderful. The doctor was great. After his exam, which included eye drops to dilate his pupil, she said he was "a perfect specimen". Yes - Matt was beaming.

He was great throughout the entire exam. She commented that she couldn't believe how good he was being. He only cried when they put in the eye drops, which is pretty normal. She said that it looked like he may be a bit farsighted for his age, but will likely not need corrective lenses some day! How they can tell that, this early is beyond me. However, she wanted to see him in a year to re-check.

His pupil size went back to normal later in the evening that same day.


Here are some pictures of William practicing drinking with a cup. We're just using tiny bits of water for now and only a few sips. He's actually getting the concept though!
