Oh My Nush!

William is growing fast! His speech seems to be picking up as well, although he still does not say many words clearly.

Here is a video of William saying "Oh My Nush!" Sometimes it sounds more like 'Dush' or 'Gush'. William knows many animal words and animal sounds. Here he says, "Moussss", "Nake", and makes the pig noise. He doesn't say "Oink" for the pig noise. He tries to snort with his nose. He basically just breathes out heavily through is nose, so you have to listen carefully...

By the way - Grandma Karen taught Will to put things on his feet. It started with cups and has moved to these plastic rings. Thanks Mom! ;-)






William is getting to an independent stage. He likes to do things for himself and gets frustrated when he isn't quite coordinated or is too small to do things he would like. He really tries to assert his authority at times and has learned about time outs. He doesn't like time outs, but when asked will say that he wants one.

William used to come home with scratches from daycare. Now he has started to scratch other kids... The daycare lady said that this is typical aggression at this age playing out. She said that currently there are 13 boys and ONE girl in Will's 'class'. So she has been dealing with these more rowdy and aggressive behaviors more frequently. Poor girl... she's really cute and quite 'girly'. She was actually was one of the three that moved with Will from the infant room to the toddler room.

The daycare lady said that Will is rather quiet at times, walking around with his hands behind his back observing the happenings at daycare. When he finds a 'target' to annoy, he will walk up into their 'space' and nudge them to see if he gets a reaction. Sometimes he'll take a toy just to see what the other kids' reaction will be. William is testing the limits of social boundaries.

We are also working on limiting his use of the word "No!" and his problem spitting behavior... that is getting a little better though. He has recently learned the word "Mine"... and everything is "Mine". We are working on learning the word "Share". Will still likes to read books, play toys, sing songs, paint, and color. He loves to go outside every chance he gets. He will, however, scream for "BB" (TV) when he is inside.

Will is a fairly picky eater, although his favorites remain peanut butter, cheese, milk, bread, blueberries, applesauce, and "M's" - which is basically any small round hard candy (m&m's, reeses pieces, smarties, etc).
