2 Years Old

William turned two on August 20th. He is growing fast! He never ceases to amaze me.

William seems to be doing well in most developmental areas. He definitely has motor skills down. He is still working on saying words and forming sentences. His hearing is showing some problems on recent tests with the audiologist and more testing is scheduled to be done. This may be due to scar tissue from ear infections before he got tubes. Time will tell if this is permanent damage or if it will improve over time.

William loves to play outside and will play on his own or with others indoors. He is very curious and is always checking everything out. Following him around and keeping him safe is a full time job!

William has been doing well at daycare. He started coming home with 'war wounds'. Some of the bigger kids were hitting and scratching. That didn't last long before we started getting notes that Will started these behaviors as well. We have even had to tackle some biting behaviors. William seems to be doing better, so we are hoping that phase has sub-sided.... we'll see!

He is still a fairly picky-eater. He has his favorite foods and no where on the list is veggies. We're working on it. He usually is served what everyone else is eating and then he chooses to eat or not.

Bed time is easiest with a routine. Bath, brush teeth, change into pj's, read books, say prayers, turn off the lights and get in bed. Some times we rock for a bit or if it's Daddy's turn, they sing songs.

New book shelf in his play room. This was originally built by my (Kelly's) maternal Grandfather, Al.



Will's new bike! He picked this one out. After Matt put it in the cart behind where he was sitting, Will sat the rest of the time with one arm over the handle bars. I think he wanted to be sure that everyone knew it was HIS!

Waiting patiently for his ice cream cake. Will had a little mini-party with Mom and Dad on his actual birthday.




Grandma Karen came up a few days early on the weekend of Will's birthday party. Not only did she help us out by fixing a shower head and cooking some salads for the party as well as the pound cake for Will's dump truck cake, but she filled all the bird feeders. William helped!

"I can do it!" William is a typical toddler, wanting to do everything himself. Grandma supervised to be sure at least some of the seed got into the feeder...

William's party! He was joined by many family members. Great-Grandpa Dale Lindberg, Grandpa Curt and Grandma Susan, and Great Aunt Carla and Godfather Ken and their grandson Austin. Grandma Laurie came up from the cities and brought Auntie Laura, and cousins Shelly and Hope. Grandma Karen came up from the cities as did Auntie Ashley and best buddy Scott. Grandpa "Papa" Gary flew in from Arizona.

Here William opens cards and gifts. William got great gifts and wonderful contributions to his savings account!!

William picked this gift first. I think he was attracted to the Sesame Street wrapping paper. This gift came from Grandpa Curt and Grandma Susan and is Will's first CD player WITH CD's of children's songs. He loves to listen to his music in his playroom and dance!


William eye-balls another gift! Great Aunt Carla got him some great books. William loves to read and be read to. (yes, he reads... we cannot understand him, but he likes to hold books, turn the pages, and babble to himself). He also got a cool John Deere action figure that shoots things. William figured this out pretty quickly! He loves to go around the house shooting at everything... we've re-directed him to not shoot people. I think he has that down so far...

120 pieces of food and dishes to go along with his new kitchen set that he got from Grandma Karen, Papa Gary, Auntie Ashley, and buddy Scott!


Not to mention all the other cards and monetary gifts he received.
